Jobber vs ServiceTitan (2026): the price gap, what the extra money buys, and the truck count where it flips
- Deepsel is our product. It appears in one labeled section near the end and is not the answer to the Jobber-vs-ServiceTitan question.
- Jobber's prices come from its pricing page, checked today. ServiceTitan publishes no prices, so every ServiceTitan dollar figure is tagged as an analyst estimate (three 2026 breakdowns, named) or an owner report (a Reddit comment or Capterra review, dated and linked).
- Every claim about what breaks or what a feature can't do links to the help article, review or thread it came from.
Jobber vs ServiceTitan comes down to size. Jobber costs $29-529 a month with every price published, sets up in hours, and has a free open API.1 ServiceTitan is quote-only at a reported $245-500 per technician per month, plus a $5,000-50,000 implementation fee and a 12-month contract.5, 6 Under four trucks, Jobber. Above four vans with an office and 300-plus maintenance agreements, ServiceTitan.
Two numbers tell you why these products get compared and why the comparison is lopsided. Jobber passed 100,000 customers in May 2026, with 400,000 service professionals using it, so the average Jobber customer runs four people.4 ServiceTitan ended its fiscal year on January 31, 2026 with about 10,800 active customers who invoiced $82.1 billion through the platform, which works out to about $7.6 million per customer.3 A 2-truck HVAC shop searching this comparison is Jobber's median customer and a rounding error in ServiceTitan's.
ServiceTitan is still the right answer for some shops reading this. The question is where the line sits, and that's what the rest of this page is about.

Jobber vs ServiceTitan pricing: the worked total for a 3-truck shop
ServiceTitan costs a 3-truck shop nine to eighteen times what Jobber does in year one, and six to ten times after that. Here's the math for three techs, an owner who also runs calls, and one office manager, using Jobber's list prices and the analyst ranges for ServiceTitan.1, 5, 6
| Line item | Jobber Connect, up to 5 users | ServiceTitan Essentials, 3 techs (estimate) | ServiceTitan The Works, 3 techs (estimate) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Software, per month | $149 on annual billing ($199 month to month) | $900-1,200 | $1,200-1,500 |
| Software, per year | $1,788 | $10,800-14,400 | $14,400-18,000 |
| Onboarding or implementation | Included (2 sessions) | $5,000-15,000, one time | $5,000-15,000, one time |
| Card processing | 2.9% + 30¢; about $12,600 on $420,000 of card volume | Quoted | Quoted |
| Add-ons | Marketing Suite $79/mo (Reviews $39/mo alone); Receptionist and Pipeline by quote | Pro Products, priced by quote; Phones Pro reported at $500/mo | Same |
| Memberships | Not available | Not included | Included |
| Year one, software plus onboarding | $1,788 | $15,800-29,400 | $19,400-33,000 |
Three things to read into that table. Jobber's number is a list price you can check today; ServiceTitan's is a range built from user reports, and the three analyses that produce it partly cite one another, so treat it as one consensus estimate rather than three confirmations. The Phones Pro figure comes from an electrical shop owner who calls it "well worth the $500/month,".10 And the office manager is a real cost on ServiceTitan's side that isn't in the table, because the vendor won't say whether office logins are priced; ask in the demo and get it on the written quote.2 Line-item detail for both is on the Jobber pricing and ServiceTitan pricing pages.
What ServiceTitan does that Jobber doesn't
The extra money buys an operations layer Jobber doesn't try to build. Four pieces matter most to an HVAC shop.
A dispatch board for a dispatcher. ServiceTitan's Daily Dispatch Board is built so one person can "optimize the routing and logistics of your technicians' job appointments and schedules for the day," with a map of "the current location of all technicians" and drag-and-drop reassignment.23 Jobber's calendar does drag-and-drop and route optimization too,1 but it assumes the owner is the dispatcher. ServiceTitan assumes you've hired one.
Call booking and recording. Call booking is on every ServiceTitan package.2 The recording and dialing layer is Phones Pro, and the owner paying $500 a month for it says "the built in recording, it has brought in a lot of revenue and makes customer service much better."10 Jobber's answer is the Receptionist add-on, an AI that answers and books; there's no call recording in the platform.1
A real pricebook, payroll and commissions. Pricebook is on all three ServiceTitan packages; payroll management is on Essentials and up; commission tracking and advanced reporting are The Works only.2 A 3-tech HVAC owner who dropped ServiceTitan listed what he never needed: "Not memberships, not marketing automation, not a pricebook with 4000 items."8 At eight trucks with commissioned techs, that list is the reason you buy.
Memberships. Customizable Memberships sits in the greyed-out block on Starter and Essentials and in the included list on The Works.2 It is the most complete membership module in the trade: types with discounts, recurring service visits, renewals sold from the tablet, card-on-file billing. What it still leaves to the office is in ServiceTitan memberships, explained.
What Jobber does that ServiceTitan doesn't
Jobber wins on everything that happens before you're a customer and everything your techs touch. Published prices and a 14-day trial with no card.1 Setup in hours: Jobber's own comparison page claims about two hours against four to five weeks for ServiceTitan, which is a vendor claim, but it matches the six-week onboarding the 3-tech shop reported.8, 29 Month-to-month billing if you want it, and no onboarding fee.1
Then the API. Jobber's developer program is free, GraphQL, and open on any plan, no partner fee, no gate.22 ServiceTitan's API is for "registered and approved developers," its terms reserve "the right to charge for the APIs," and a May 2026 integration guide warns that "some contractor plans do not include this by default, and you may need to call your account rep," with approval taking one to four weeks.19
And the app. Techs rate Jobber 4.8 on the App Store across 20,781 ratings and 4.4 on Google Play.16, 17 ServiceTitan Field, the newer of its two tech apps, sits at 3.4 and 3.1; the older ServiceTitan Mobile app is at 2.9 and 2.4.16, 17 One HVAC tech who's worked on both: "Current shop uses Jobber. It's a lot cheaper and pretty good from an employee side of things."13 (A rating gap this wide usually means the office loves the software more than the field does. That's ServiceTitan's pattern in the threads below.)
QuickBooks and the back office
Both sync to QuickBooks Online. Jobber's sync runs one way, from Jobber to QuickBooks in real time, on select plans, and Jobber says outright that it can't talk to QuickBooks Desktop.20 ServiceTitan's QuickBooks Online integration exports invoices and payments after "account configuration" through its support team.21 What differs is the headcount each one assumes. A former admin at a $40 million HVAC company, October 2025: "The license fees are crazy high, and you'll need to add at least 1-2 back end staff to handle all the extra work ST throws at you to make an accurate financial statement."9 A 4-tech plumbing shop paying about $1,700 a month: "It is an extremely rich software package that requires a tremendous amount of administrative work. It is very hard to find anyone to work in your office that has good knowledge of it."10
What owners who've used both say
Pulled live on September 7, 2026. Where a thread's original post has since been removed by moderators, the comments are still up and linked.
- 4-tech plumbing shop on Jobber, $1.2M revenue, December 2024: "We're currently using Jobber but honestly, it's becoming a nightmare as we grow. ServiceTitan keeps coming up in conversations... I can't get a straight answer about actual costs."10
- Software consultant who builds on both, April 2025: ServiceTitan usually "lands in the $200-$300 or so range" per tech. "ST becomes worth it at ~$2mil revenue or so. Not to say you can't use it before that, but usually you're dealing with putting out other fires and building processes at that point."10
- HVAC, has used Jobber, ServiceTitan, Service Fusion and mHelpDesk, November 2025: "Service titan is by far the most advanced. But costly. Your company would get used to any new program you used pretty quickly."11
- HVAC shop on Jobber, same thread: "We use jobber and have been really happy with it, I have experience with service titan and housecall pro and I prefer jobber."11 And from a consultant in the thread: "ST is great for larger contractors >$5M."11
- Solo electrician, $185k a year, after a ServiceTitan demo, October 2025: "Paying over $1k a month just for software feels absolutely insane when I'm trying to keep overhead low. That's more than my insurance costs." The rep's answer to a smaller plan: "this is the starting point, it's designed for companies with crews."12
- Lawn care owner on Jobber, August 2024: "It's honestly good from 1-30 employees then past that you're close to service titan."14
- HVAC, March 2025: "service titan is the best handsdown but it wil come witha price tag like 500 buck per tech per month so you better have some money makers."15
- 14-tech shop on ServiceTitan, August 2026: "14 managed techs and we are just touching $10k a month in fees. It's a trap. It's very difficult to get a full grasp of what you're paying for."10
The pattern holds across every thread I found: nobody who has used both says ServiceTitan is worse software. They say it's the wrong size. The people who defend the price run dispatchers, CSRs and an admin. The people who regret it are under five trucks.
Which should a 1-4 truck HVAC shop choose?
- One truck, working solo? Jobber Core at $29 a month billed annually. ServiceTitan told a solo electrician he wasn't their customer, and the bill would've been over $1,000 a month.12
- 2-3 trucks, the owner still dispatches? Jobber Connect, up-to-5 band, $149 a month annual. You get automated reminders, QuickBooks sync and automatic card payments, and you keep the $10,000-30,000 a year ServiceTitan would take before its second-year discount.1
- On Jobber, but agreements are the thing breaking? Don't replatform for a membership module. ServiceTitan's is on The Works only, the most expensive package, and the workaround costs $79 a month beside Jobber (next section).2
- 4-6 trucks, hiring a dispatcher and a CSR, 300-plus agreements? Price ServiceTitan now. Budget an admin or a consultant, price The Works if memberships are the reason, and negotiate the term. This is the line ServiceTitan's own users draw: "at least four vans on the road with 300 to 500 maintenance agreements."9
- 8-plus trucks, commissioned techs, multiple locations? ServiceTitan is the default for a reason. Jobber tops out at a 15-user band before custom pricing, and it has no commission tracking or payroll.1, 2
For the wider field (Housecall Pro, FieldEdge, Service Fusion, Workiz) and a pick by shop size, see the maintenance agreement software comparison. The two entry-level tools head to head are in Jobber vs Housecall Pro for maintenance plans.
Either way: what neither does about maintenance agreements
Jobber has no agreement object at all. No count of visits owed against visits delivered, no member-discount enforcement, no renewal that renews itself. Shops build the plan from a recurring job, a client tag, a custom field and a recurring invoice, and keep a spreadsheet for the rest; the feature request has sat open in Jobber's community for years.28 The full build, and where it leaks, is in how to run maintenance plans in Jobber.
ServiceTitan has the object, on The Works, and it still runs on office labor. Its own help center says a recurring service event "lets you know when to schedule a service. You set the actual service date when you book the event into a job," so a CSR works the list every spring and fall. If a member's preferred card fails, "payment processing fails" and the invoice waits in Billing History for someone to notice. Automatic card updating is an extra charge.30 That's fine at 3,000 members with a CSR. At 150 members and a 2-truck shop, it's the same "who's due" problem as the spreadsheet, at per-tech prices.
This is the part I have a product in, so weigh it accordingly. Deepsel is an agreement ledger that runs beside the FSM you keep: plan, tier, covered equipment, card on file, visits owed vs delivered per unit. It auto-charges renewals with retries and flags the cards that stay failed, emails every member who's due a booking reminder each season (texts on Pro), and warns you before a paid visit expires. Starter is $79 a month, Pro $159 (coming soon), unlimited users. With Jobber, Starter imports your client list and the reminder emails carry your Jobber booking link; Pro syncs natively through that free API and writes booked visits back into Jobber as jobs. There is no ServiceTitan integration today: you'd import an export, and the office would key booked visits into ServiceTitan as normal jobs, which only makes sense if you're leaving it. Jobber Connect plus Deepsel Starter is $228 a month, against an estimated $1,200-1,500 for The Works, and Jobber's own comparison page lists automated repeat invoices for ongoing service agreements as the one thing it does here, which is the billing, not the ledger.29 Plans and the feature split are on our pricing page.
14-day free trial. No credit card required. Still deciding? The free agreement-tracking spreadsheet works beside either one.Frequently asked questions
Is Jobber or ServiceTitan better for HVAC?
It depends on truck count. Under four trucks, Jobber: it costs $29-529 a month with every price published, sets up in hours, and its own users prefer it at that size. Above four vans with a dispatcher, a CSR and 300-plus maintenance agreements, ServiceTitan: its dispatch board, call recording, pricebook and membership module are the reason large HVAC shops pay $245-500 per tech per month. Between those lines, most owners who tried ServiceTitan early regretted the contract.
How much cheaper is Jobber than ServiceTitan?
For a 3-truck shop, roughly nine to eighteen times cheaper in year one. Jobber Connect for up to 5 users is $149 a month on annual billing, $1,788 a year, with onboarding included. ServiceTitan Essentials for 3 techs is a reported $900-1,200 a month plus a $5,000-15,000 implementation fee, so $15,800-29,400 in year one and $10,800-14,400 a year after that. The Works, the only package with memberships, runs higher still.
When should I move from Jobber to ServiceTitan?
When you have the office to feed it. A contractor running about 2,500 members on ServiceTitan says not before four vans and 300-500 maintenance agreements. A consultant who builds on both puts it at about $2 million in revenue. Move when you are hiring a dispatcher and a CSR anyway, budget an admin or a consultant on top of the license, and read the contract term before you sign. If the only thing pushing you off Jobber is agreement tracking, add an agreement layer instead.
Does Jobber have memberships like ServiceTitan?
No. Jobber has no membership or maintenance-agreement object on any plan; the feature request has been open in its community for years. The workaround is a recurring job per member, a client tag for the tier, a custom field for the renewal date and a recurring invoice, with a spreadsheet for visits owed vs delivered. ServiceTitan's Customizable Memberships module is real, but it is on The Works package only, priced per technician on a quote.
Does ServiceTitan have a free trial like Jobber?
No. Jobber gives 14 days of full access on its Grow plan with no credit card. ServiceTitan sells by demo only; Capterra's product page lists free trial as not available, Jobber's own comparison page calls it 'No standard free trial. Demo only,' and every 2026 pricing analysis reports a 12-month minimum contract with no month-to-month option.
Can a one-man shop use ServiceTitan?
ServiceTitan will tell you no. A solo electrician doing about $185,000 a year asked for a smaller plan after his demo and was told 'this is the starting point, it's designed for companies with crews,' with a bill over $1,000 a month. Jobber Core is $29 a month billed annually for one user, and Connect at $99 adds automated reminders, QuickBooks sync and automatic card payments when you hire.
Which works better with QuickBooks, Jobber or ServiceTitan?
Both sync to QuickBooks Online; the difference is who does the work. Jobber's sync is one-way, from Jobber to QuickBooks in real time, available on select plans, and needs no setup call. ServiceTitan's QuickBooks Online integration requires account configuration through its support team, and a former admin at a $40 million HVAC company says you'll need one or two back-office staff to turn ServiceTitan's data into an accurate financial statement.
