FieldPulse vs Jobber (2026): pricing, features, and which one fits a 1-4 truck shop

  • Deepsel is our product. It appears in one labeled section near the end, and it is not the answer to the FieldPulse-vs-Jobber question.
  • Every price was checked on the vendor's own pricing page on September 7, 2026. FieldPulse publishes none, so its dollar figures are tagged as estimates or owner reports, with the source and date.
  • Every claim about what breaks or what's missing links to the help article, review or Reddit comment it came from.

FieldPulse vs Jobber comes down to depth against price. Jobber publishes every plan ($29 to $529 a month on annual billing), sells month to month, and has the higher-rated mobile app. FieldPulse quotes seats privately on a one-year contract and gives you more to configure: a flat-rate pricebook, inventory, QuickBooks Desktop, and a maintenance-agreement module Jobber doesn't have. Simple and cancellable, or deep and committed.

The two vendors agree on that framing, which is rare. FieldPulse's comparison page says "Jobber is built for getting started. FieldPulse is built for service businesses that have outgrown the basics."5 Jobber's says FieldPulse "offers deep operational tools for teams that want more custom configuration, while Jobber offers a simpler path to get started."4 Jobber passed 100,000 customers across fifty-plus service verticals in May 2026.10 FieldPulse, founded in Dallas in 2015, lists HVAC, electrical and plumbing first on its industry menu and says it serves "thousands" of companies.5, 6 The shop comparing them is the one this page is for: two to four trucks, an owner who has outgrown paper, and one question. Is the extra configuration worth a private quote and a year's signature?

FieldPulse vs Jobber pricing: published bands against a private quote

Jobber's whole price list fits on one screen. Core is $29 a month billed annually ($49 month to month) for one user. Connect starts at $99 ($139) for one user and $149 ($199) for up to five. Grow runs $149 to $399 annual, Plus $399 to $529, and every plan adds users at $29 a month past its band.3, 4 The line-item version, add-ons and all, is on the Jobber pricing breakdown.

FieldPulse's price list doesn't exist in public. Its pricing page shows Essentials, Professional and Enterprise with a Request Pricing button under each, calls the model seat-based, and warns that the numbers on review sites "haven't been verified by us."1 The contract terms are public, and they matter more than any estimate: a one-year term that renews unless you give 60 days' written notice, no refunds, every customer since November 2023 on an annual contract.2 The eight competing estimates and what Capterra reviewers say they pay are on the FieldPulse pricing page.

Owner reports land where the table does. An electrical contractor who demoed Jobber, FieldPulse and ServiceTitan in May 2024: "Respectively they were cheapest, middle of the road, and most expensive... Field pulse is ~600/month, And Jobber is ~300-400/month."14 A Capterra reviewer who switched to FieldPulse in February 2026: "less than service titan but more than all others."13 Call the gap 1.5 to 2.5 times Jobber's equivalent plan, before either side's add-ons. Then weigh what it buys.

What FieldPulse has that Jobber doesn't

Configuration depth, mostly. FieldPulse's comparison table claims five things Jobber lacks outright: project management, a pricebook, inventory, asset tracking and good-better-best proposals.5 Jobber's own page concedes the first three, telling readers to choose FieldPulse "if you want operational tools like inventory, asset management, or a built-in phone system."4 I take vendor tables with salt, but when both sides agree on the split, it's the split.

The pricebook is the one HVAC owners bring up unprompted. An electrician advising a shop leaving ServiceTitan in June 2026 sorted the field in one line: "Housecall Pro and Jobber both post their pricing publicly and are nowhere near the workflow straitjacket ST is; FieldPulse if you want flat-rate price book stuff."18 One catch. On FieldPulse's pricing page, Pricebook sits in the premium-products row with Engage, Custom Forms and Fleet Tracking, each priced on its own.1 Get its price on the quote.

Then QuickBooks Desktop. FieldPulse syncs with Online and Desktop, and its help center documents the Desktop connector down to the advice to disable sleep mode on the PC that runs it.8 Jobber syncs with QuickBooks Online and Xero, full stop.3 If your bookkeeper is on Desktop and won't move, this row ends the comparison. The maintenance-agreement module gets its own section below.

What Jobber has that FieldPulse doesn't

A price you can read, a trial you can run, and a contract you can leave. Jobber's trial is 14 days on Grow with no card, and the no-commitment monthly rate means a bad fit costs one month.3 FieldPulse offers no trial and a year's commitment.1, 2 A solo electrician shopping in October 2025 put the small-shop reaction plainly: "fieldpulse (website makes you call for pricing which is always a red flag)."20 Unfair to the product. Completely fair to the buying process.

The mobile app, by the numbers. Jobber's iOS app holds 4.8 stars from 20,781 ratings and its Android app 4.4 from 6,716; FieldPulse's sit at 4.0 from 117 and 3.2 from 70, all checked September 7, 2026.11 Jobber's app also runs in Spanish for field users; FieldPulse's is English only.3, 4 Counts that lopsided partly reflect Jobber's size (a 117-rating average moves with a dozen reviews). Still, a plumber's office manager got the right advice in July 2026: "the tech experience matters more than the office feature list. If the guys hate opening it, every 'workflow' turns back into texts and memory."19

An open API on every plan. Jobber's GraphQL API is free and self-serve at any tier, which is how Zapier, reporting tools and companion apps hook in without a tier upgrade.9 FieldPulse's Open API is an Enterprise feature, keys come from support, and there is no agreements endpoint at all.1, 7 For a shop that never writes code this sounds academic. It decides what can be bolted on later.

Add-ons: where each one charges extra

Both vendors sell pieces separately, and the complaints are mirror images. A stone installer four months into Jobber, January 2026: "reviews cost an extra $39 a month and referrals are another $29. Those feel like basic features that any CRM should already include."16 Jobber sells Receptionist, Pipeline and Marketing Suite as add-ons; Plus bundles the marketing tools and the receptionist.3, 4 FieldPulse's list is Engage, Operator AI, Chat AI, Pricebook, Payments, Financing, Fleet Tracking, Custom Forms and Dynamic Proposals.1 The one that stings is Engage. A construction company's growth officer, March 2026, two stars: "unless you pay for their Engage phone plan, you can't even see customer replies to text messages sent through the FieldPulse platform."13 Jobber includes automated texts on every plan and two-way SMS from Grow.3, 9 Whichever way you lean, write down the five things your office does daily and price the add-on for each before the demo ends.

What owners say: FieldPulse vs Jobber on Reddit and Capterra

Every quote below was live on September 7, 2026. Switchers first.

  • Electrical contractor, r/electricians, December 7, 2025: "I just switched from Jobber to Fieldpulse. It's definitely a step up and feels to be in the tier between Jobber and ServiceTitan but only a little more expensive than Jobber." He offered a referral code in the same breath, so weight it accordingly.15
  • Reply on the "disappointed with Jobber" thread, r/Contractor, February 2, 2026: "Jobber's great until you realize half the 'features' are line items. We bailed and went to FieldPulse. Still in the earlier stages but the team actually likes it and it's been a big improvement for us."16
  • HVAC contractor who left Jobber for FieldPulse, Capterra, August 13, 2026, one star: "make sure you fully understand the contract before signing."13 Same direction of travel, opposite verdict, and the contract is the reason.
  • Former FieldPulse shop, r/electricians, February 5, 2026: "I've actually used FieldPulse before and we switched to Workiz, and for us it was way better once the team grew and scheduling got messy. It was fine at first with FP but we kept running into little limitations that added up."14
  • Commercial HVAC owner on FieldPulse since May 2024, r/ProHVACR, December 23, 2025: "They're ok. They do include a bunch of add ons like 'maintenance contracts' at no additional charge which for me was huge. Some days I wish I had just gone with house call pro, but honestly going from paper t and m slips to FP has saved me a stupid amount of time."17
  • Advice to a 2-truck plumbing shop, r/Plumbing, July 7, 2026: "Jobber if you want polished and simple, FieldPulse if you need more customization, Kickserv/Markate if budget matters... ServiceTitan is probably the wrong direction for 2 trucks."19

The pattern holds. People leave Jobber for FieldPulse when they want depth and are tired of add-on line items. People leave FieldPulse when the team outgrows its workflow or the contract bites. Nobody in these threads calls either one bad software.

Which should a 1-4 truck HVAC shop choose?

  • Solo or two trucks, starting this month? Jobber. Core at $29 or Connect at $99, a 14-day trial, and a monthly rate you can walk away from. A year's commitment is the wrong first contract for a shop still learning what it needs.
  • Flat-rate pricebook, inventory, or QuickBooks Desktop? FieldPulse. Jobber doesn't do the first two and won't sync the third. Price Pricebook and Engage into the quote first.
  • Techs who fight software? Jobber's app ratings are the safer bet, and it runs in Spanish. Then ignore me and hand each app to your most reluctant tech on the demo.
  • Already running 100-plus maintenance agreements? FieldPulse has the module and Jobber has a workaround, so FieldPulse wins this row on paper. Read the next section before you count on it.
  • Can't sign for a year? Jobber, and it isn't close. FieldPulse's terms bind you to the full contract value.2

For the wider field (ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro, FieldEdge, Service Fusion, Workiz), see the maintenance agreement software comparison by shop size, and for the other head-to-head most readers land on next, Jobber vs Housecall Pro for maintenance plans.

Either way: what neither does about maintenance agreements

This pair is unusual because one side does have an agreement module. FieldPulse's Maintenance Agreements feature, as its help center documents it in September 2026, attaches a plan to a customer and their equipment, auto-creates the next 12 months of visits as jobs, bills a saved card on a weekly, monthly or annual schedule, and emails the customer before each visit.7 That's real, and more than Jobber can say.

Read the mechanics twice, though. The generated jobs "will be left unscheduled by default," so the office still books every spring and fall visit by hand. When a card fails, "the recurring billing will continue. The invoice will not be marked as paid," and the alert comes from the payment provider "outside of FieldPulse." Nothing counts visits owed against visits delivered inside a plan year, nothing warns before a paid visit expires, and the API has no agreements endpoint.7 The promise-by-promise check is on the FieldPulse maintenance agreements page. Jobber has no agreement object on any plan; the standard build is a recurring job for the visits, a client tag for the tier, a custom field for the renewal date, and a spreadsheet for the rest (click by click in how to run maintenance plans in Jobber).9 So on either platform the same three lists end up in a sheet: cards that failed this month, prepaid visits expiring in 60 days, and members with fewer visits delivered than paid.

This is the part I have a product in, so weigh it accordingly. Deepsel is an agreement ledger that runs beside the FSM you keep: plan, tier, covered equipment, card on file, visits owed vs delivered per unit. It auto-charges renewals with retries and flags the cards that stay failed, emails every member who's due a seasonal booking reminder (texts on Pro), and warns before a paid visit expires. Starter is $79 a month, Pro $159 (coming soon), unlimited users. With Jobber, Starter works from an import and the reminder emails carry your Jobber booking link; Pro syncs natively and writes booked visits back into Jobber as jobs. With FieldPulse there is no integration today: you import a report export, and the office keys booked visits into FieldPulse as normal jobs, the way it books them now. Jobber Connect at $149 plus Deepsel at $79 is $228 a month for a 5-user shop. On FieldPulse I can't total it, because half the stack is a private quote.

14-day free trial. No credit card required. Still deciding? The free agreement-tracking spreadsheet works beside either one.

Frequently asked questions

Is FieldPulse or Jobber better for HVAC?

FieldPulse if your HVAC shop runs a flat-rate pricebook, tracks equipment and inventory, or already sells maintenance agreements and wants them inside the FSM. Jobber if you want published pricing, a month-to-month option and the mobile app techs rate highest. Both cover scheduling, quoting, invoicing and payments. For a 1-4 truck HVAC shop the honest tiebreakers are the one-year FieldPulse contract and how your techs react to each app on a demo.

How much does FieldPulse cost compared to Jobber?

Jobber publishes it: Core $29 a month billed annually ($49 monthly), Connect from $99 ($139), Grow from $149 ($199), Plus from $399 ($499), with a 5-user Connect band at $149 and extra users at $29 each. FieldPulse publishes nothing; it quotes seats on a one-year contract. Third-party estimates run $65-115 per user per month, and an electrical contractor who demoed both in 2024 was quoted roughly $600 a month for FieldPulse against $300-400 for Jobber.

Does FieldPulse have maintenance agreements? Does Jobber?

FieldPulse does. Its documented module attaches a plan to a customer and their equipment, auto-creates the next 12 months of visits as unscheduled jobs, bills a saved card on a schedule and emails a reminder before each visit. Jobber has no agreement object on any plan; shops run a recurring job plus a tag and a spreadsheet. Neither retries a failed card, counts visits owed against visits delivered, or warns before a paid visit expires.

Which is better for QuickBooks, FieldPulse or Jobber?

If you run QuickBooks Desktop, FieldPulse: it syncs with both QuickBooks Online and Desktop, from its Professional package up. Jobber syncs with QuickBooks Online and Xero only, from Connect up. On QuickBooks Online both work, and both get complaints about sync quirks in reviews, so run your real chart of accounts through the demo before you sign either one.

Can I switch from Jobber to FieldPulse, or from FieldPulse to Jobber?

Yes in both directions, with different exit costs. Jobber sells month to month, so leaving costs you the current month (annual prepay is non-refundable). FieldPulse puts every customer on a one-year auto-renewing contract with 60 days' written notice, and you owe the full term, so plan a FieldPulse exit a year out. Customers, jobs and invoices move by export and import either way; saved cards do not, so members re-enter payment details.

Is FieldPulse cheaper than Jobber?

Usually not. Every owner report and third-party estimate I found places FieldPulse above Jobber and Housecall Pro and well below ServiceTitan. A switcher on r/electricians in December 2025 called it 'only a little more expensive than Jobber'; a 2024 demo shopper put it at about $600 a month against $300-400. The gap depends on your seat mix, and only a written quote settles it.

Some days I wish I had just gone with house call pro, but honestly going from paper t and m slips to FP has saved me a stupid amount of time." reddit.com; reply of January 23, 2026: "Jobber is not that bad." reddit.com. Pulled September 7, 2026.
  18. r/electricians, "Software recommendations" (an electrical contractor leaving ServiceTitan), comment of June 10, 2026: "Housecall Pro and Jobber both post their pricing publicly and are nowhere near the workflow straitjacket ST is; FieldPulse if you want flat-rate price book stuff. Two things to test before you sign: run your real QuickBooks data through the sync, because that is where most of these quietly fall apart." reddit.com, pulled September 7, 2026.
  19. r/Plumbing, "Software advice" (office staff at a 2-truck plumbing shop on Housecall Pro), comment of July 7, 2026: "For a 2-truck plumbing shop, the tech experience matters more than the office feature list. If the guys hate opening it, every 'workflow' turns back into texts and memory... Options worth comparing: Jobber if you want polished and simple, FieldPulse if you need more customization, Kickserv/Markate if budget matters, and Joist only if quoting/invoicing is the real need. ServiceTitan is probably the wrong direction for 2 trucks." reddit.com, pulled September 7, 2026.
  20. r/smallbusiness, "Servicetitan alternatives actually affordable?", October 29, 2025, original post by a solo residential electrician: "Looked at jobber ($50-150 depending on plan), housecall pro (seemed like $60-80 range maybe?), fieldpulse (website makes you call for pricing which is always a red flag)." reddit.com, pulled September 7, 2026.
  21. Third-party FieldPulse estimates, none verified by FieldPulse: Tooled Up Pro, "FieldPulse Pricing 2026," February 24, 2026 (~$99 / $199 / $399 per month by team size) tooleduppro.com; ServiceAgent, "FieldPulse Pricing: What It Actually Costs in 2026," August 3, 2026 (~$65 / $90 / $115 per user per month; onboarding $500-5,000) serviceagent.ai. The 5-seat worked estimate (2 full-access seats at $65-100 plus 3 field-only seats assumed at half to two-thirds of a full seat) is built on the FieldPulse pricing page. For contrast, Follow Up CRM's "FieldPulse vs Jobber" comparison lists a FieldPulse "Forever Free" plan at $0, $49 and $119 tiers and Jobber Core at $69, none of which match either vendor's page in September 2026. followupcrm.com, retrieved September 7, 2026.
