GorillaDesk vs Jobber (2026): what a 2-truck shop pays, which trades each one fits, and the gap they share
- Deepsel is our product. It appears in one labeled section near the end and is not the answer to the GorillaDesk-vs-Jobber question.
- Every price was checked on the vendor's own pricing page. GorillaDesk's one-route prices, plan features and billing terms were re-read on September 7; its slider prices for two to four routes were read on September 2, 2026.
- Every claim about what breaks links to the Reddit comment, review or help article it came from, with the date.
GorillaDesk and Jobber cost the same for a 2-truck shop on the tiers most owners buy: $149 a month for GorillaDesk Pro (two routes) or Jobber Connect (up to five users). Trade decides it. GorillaDesk is built for pest, lawn and pool routes, with chemical logging on its $49 plan and free office logins. Jobber is the general tool for HVAC, plumbing and mixed shops, with more integrations and a free API. Neither keeps a maintenance-agreement ledger.
These two get compared because they sit in the same price band and sell to overlapping trades. GorillaDesk calls itself the "#1 Field Service Software for Pest, Lawn, & Cleaning Businesses," says its founders "were once field service pros" who ran pest and lawn companies, and has spent "the last 12 years" building for them.4 Its Android app shows 10,000+ installs.16 Jobber passed 100,000 customers in May 2026, with 400,000 service pros "in over 50 industries," and its Android app shows 1,000,000+ installs.15, 16 One is a specialist. The other is the biggest general tool in the small-shop market.
The owner googling this pair is usually a pest or lawn operator who has outgrown paper, or a mixed-trade shop (pest plus handyman, a pool route with the odd heater install) wondering whether Jobber's breadth costs them the pest-specific tools. I've tried to answer both.

GorillaDesk vs Jobber pricing: what a 2-truck shop actually pays
On the tiers a 2-truck shop buys, the bills match. GorillaDesk Pro for two routes is $149 a month. Jobber Connect for up to five users is $149 a month on annual billing. Prepaid for a year, GorillaDesk is $1,639 and Jobber is $1,788. Month to month, GorillaDesk stays at $149 and Jobber goes to $199.1, 9
The two pricing models look different and land in the same place at this size. GorillaDesk meters routes: $49, $99 or $149 for the first one, then $50 per route on Basic and Pro, with the office free.1, 2 Jobber meters logins: one user on Core, then bands of up to 5, 10 and 15, with $29 seats in between.9 Here's what each model produces for four common shop shapes. The Jobber figures are annual billing; add roughly a third for no-commitment monthly.
| Shop | GorillaDesk | Jobber | Cheaper |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solo, quotes and invoices only | Basic, 1 route: $49/mo ($539/yr) | Core, 1 user: $29/mo annual, $49 monthly ($348/yr) | Jobber by $20, but Core has no automated reminders or "on my way" texts, and GorillaDesk Basic has both1, 10 |
| Solo who wants automated reminders and online booking | Reminders alone: Basic $49. With the portal and booking: Pro, 1 route, $99 ($1,089/yr) | Connect, 1 user: $99 annual, $139 monthly | GorillaDesk if reminders are all you need; even at Pro vs Connect |
| 2 trucks plus an office manager (this page's shop) | Pro, 2 routes: $149/mo ($1,639/yr). Basic, 2 routes: $99 | Connect, 5-user band: $149 annual, $199 monthly ($1,788/yr) | Even on annual; GorillaDesk by $50 month to month |
| 4 trucks plus an office manager | Pro, 4 routes: $249/mo. Basic, 4 routes: $179 | Connect, 5-user band (4 techs + office = 5 users): $149 annual | Jobber by $100 a month |
Two lines the plan cards leave out. Texting: GorillaDesk rents a number for $5 a month and sells outgoing texts in credit packs ($50 per 1,000), so 500 reminders a month adds about $30.1 Jobber's automated texts are part of Connect.11 Processing: both run 2.9% + 30¢ on a card charged online, so 250 monthly accounts at $45 ($11,250 of volume) cost about $401 a month on either.8, 9 Jobber's 1% bank-payment option is worth moving big commercial accounts to. GorillaDesk lists its Square card-on-file rate two different ways on its own pages, so check Square's sheet before you put 300 accounts on it.
So the 2-truck total is roughly $575 a month on GorillaDesk Pro ($149 plus texting plus processing) and $550 on Jobber Connect, or $600 if you won't prepay. The subscription is about a quarter of the bill either way. The line-item versions are in the GorillaDesk pricing breakdown and the Jobber pricing breakdown.
Per route or per user: how each one counts your people
GorillaDesk charges per technician who owns a schedule and lets office, admin and sales users in free. Jobber charges for anyone who logs in, in bands, with extra seats at $29 a month. Below four routes that favors GorillaDesk for office-heavy shops. At four routes and up, Jobber's five-user band wins.1, 2, 9
GorillaDesk's own test is one question: "Do your technicians ride together or solo?" A two-man crew that rides together needs one schedule, assigned to the lead. Everyone else logs in free, and its help center says about 95% of customers end up on Pro, mostly for documents and e-signatures.1, 2 Jobber defines a user as anyone who accesses the account, office or field, so the owner who doesn't run a route still takes a seat.9
Run the shapes. An owner in the office, one office manager and two solo techs is two paid routes on GorillaDesk and four users on Jobber (the five-user band, $149). Same money. Add two trucks and GorillaDesk Pro is $249 while Jobber is still inside the band at $149. The crossover is four routes, and it's the most useful number on this page if you plan to grow.
Chemical tracking, bait stations and route density: where GorillaDesk earns its pest-control reputation
GorillaDesk logs materials and chemicals from the field on its $49 plan, barcodes devices such as bait stations on Pro, and routes up to 25 stops on Basic. Jobber has chemical tracking too, on select plans, but records go in from jobber.com because, in its help center's words, "There is no chemical tracking in the mobile app."1, 12
Several comparison posts say Jobber has no chemical tracking at all. That's wrong, and the real difference is more specific. Jobber's feature records the chemical name and concentration, the applicator, the date and time, the weather and the service address, and exports it all as a CSV for the jurisdictions that want records kept for up to seven years.12 What it can't do is take that entry from the tech at the stop. So the office keys it in at night, from the tech's notes. A pest owner who moved from Jobber to GorillaDesk in January 2025: "I also don't remember easily being able to modify chemicals used on each job and everything."19
Routing cuts the other way, a little. GorillaDesk caps basic routing at 25 stops on Basic and sells the drive-matrix version on Pro; Jobber optimizes a day or a week for the whole team from Connect.1, 9, 11 A lawn applicator who has used PestPac, GorillaDesk and Real Green wrote in October 2025 that GorillaDesk "is pretty user friendly. Doesn't do a fantastic job with routing."26 For a dense residential route it's fine. For a rural 40-stop day, trial the routing before you commit.
Recurring billing: GorillaDesk subscriptions vs Jobber automatic payments
Both charge a saved card on a schedule. GorillaDesk does it two ways, invoice-frequency autopay on Basic and Pro and Stripe or Square subscriptions on Pro, with either processor. Jobber does it through Automatic Payments on Connect and up, using Jobber Payments. Neither ties the charge to the visits it paid for.6, 11
The GorillaDesk version is a payments feature and its help center says so plainly: subscriptions "are primarily used when a customer is being charged a fixed amount for their services over a duration of time," and "a new invoice will be generated every time your customer has been charged."6 Invoice Frequency, the cheaper cousin, lets an invoice "repeat on its own frequency, separate from your job's frequency," which is how a Basic-plan shop bills monthly for quarterly service.6 The visits come from a separate recurring-job series that only generates the next stop when the current one is marked Complete or Canceled.7 Jobber's Automatic Payments charge the card for recurring work; the visits come from recurring jobs; nothing links the two.9, 27
Operators have settled the billing question themselves. In a June 2026 r/PestControlIndustry thread on enforcing 12-month agreements: "Put a credit card on file, auto bill at time of service, or preferably monthly. If it's $135 for a service, charge $45 a month. No more problems." Then, from the same thread, the part autopay doesn't fix: "even when on AutoPay the card brands now allow to easily turn on and off cards so we get declines when we attempt payment. It's a recurring billing nightmare!"25 A decline in GorillaDesk flips the invoice to FAIL and the help article on declines suggests the customer call their bank.8 Jobber emails a payment reminder with a pay link. In both, the chasing is a person's job.
Integrations: QuickBooks, Zapier, the API and the app marketplace
Jobber is the deeper integration platform. QuickBooks Online and Xero sync from Connect, Zapier from Connect, an App Marketplace, and a free open API on any plan. GorillaDesk puts its QuickBooks push (one way, to QuickBooks Online only), Zapier and its open API all on the $99 Pro plan.1, 5, 9, 11, 14
The QuickBooks difference is direction and depth. GorillaDesk's sync "is a one-way push" of customers, invoices and payments, "supported for QuickBooks Online only," per its May 2025 help article.5 Owners are blunt about it. A pest company that moved 13,000 customers over from PestPac, October 2025: "DO NOT sync QBO with Gorilla Desk! You will continue to have sync problems and your books will be a nightmare! If you have a good bookkeeper that is familiar, they will work inside QBO and GD." Another in the same thread: "I would fix in qb and sync or manually upload which isnt really as bad as it seems."20 Jobber's sync gets its own set of help articles and error guides, and its Zapier connector exposes triggers for new clients, quotes, jobs, completions and invoices, with actions to create clients, requests, quotes and jobs.13
Then there's the API. Jobber's developer program is free, with no plan gate and no partner fees, which is why third-party tools (ours included) build against Jobber first.14 GorillaDesk's Open API Access is a Pro feature with a much smaller ecosystem around it.1 Jobber has also shipped AI features GorillaDesk doesn't have (voice notes with translation, an assistant that answers from your business data, a Receptionist add-on).9 Whether a 2-truck shop needs any of that is a fair question. Whether it will need an integration it can't get is the better one.
What owners who have used both say
Threads on r/PestControlIndustry and r/LawnCarePros, pulled live on September 7, 2026. Nearly every switcher went the same direction, and I've included the Jobber holdouts so you can weigh them. Keep in mind these are pest and lawn subreddits; Jobber's biggest industry on Software Advice is construction, and those owners aren't in these threads.17
- Pest owner, 2 techs, April 2025, Jobber to GorillaDesk: "After switching from jobber to gorilla desk my life became simpler and more professional with less effort... It takes a minute to figure out just like any other software, but I'm loving it with 2 techs- looking to get a third, fourth, fifth. I won't change."18
- Pest owner, January 2025, Markate to Jobber to GorillaDesk: "Jobber became a pain when having to setup custom invoices for customers if they had different payment time frames... I had calls with Fieldroutes and PestPac back in December but both were 3-4x what I pay for GorillaDesk."19
- Pest owner, October 2025: "I started with qb, then jobber and have used gd for the last year." And: "Gorilla desk is great once you have it squared away and can keep it squared away. It helped me grow my business a ton."20
- Pest operator, February 2026: "GorillaDesk is very user friendly but lacks a few features. FieldRoutes is not as easy to learn but is very capable. Jobber is not specialized for our industry - would not recommend for anyone larger than a couple employees."21
- The Jobber holdout, six years in, April 2025: "I have about 6 years of experience using Jobber. If you can set it up correctly, it beats every other software easily. Problem is migration is never an easy process."22 In the same thread, a multi-tech operator: "Jobber is too generic IMO."22
- Lawn care, November 2025: "Jobber is good for small businesses but it's not industry specific, so we found there was a lot of bloat with it."23
- The GorillaDesk gripe, February 2026: "Gorilladesk is pretty decent. Their invoicing system is a little bit clunky in my opinion. I highly recommend not doing what I did and just jump in assuming you can figure it out without the training."21
- Both, May 2024: "Gorilla desk or jobber are great options. Highly recommend both. Using paper these days is an awful idea."24
Pest people who tried Jobber found it generic and moved. The people who defend Jobber talk about what it does once it's set up. Nobody in these threads went from GorillaDesk to Jobber, but it's a sample of one industry, and the industry GorillaDesk was built in.
Which should a 1-4 truck shop choose?
Decision rules, in order:
- Pest control, 1-4 routes, state application records required? GorillaDesk. Basic at $49 if you bill at the time of service; Pro at $99 the day you want e-signed agreements, the customer portal or subscriptions.
- Lawn, pool or cleaning routes, the same customers every week or month? Either works. GorillaDesk if office logins outnumber trucks (they're free) or you want chemical logging from the truck. Jobber if you want the wider app marketplace, deeper QuickBooks sync and a bigger app.
- HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or a pest shop that also sells installs and one-off jobs? Jobber. Optional line items and markups on quotes, job costing on Grow, and the free API for whatever you bolt on later.
- Four trucks or more? Price Jobber Connect's five-user band ($149) against GorillaDesk Pro at four routes ($249). GorillaDesk Growth ($349 at four routes) only if you need Service Plans, multi-branch or its sales pipeline.
- Half or more of your revenue on recurring plans? Whichever you choose, the plan ledger isn't in it. Read the next section before you decide it's solved.
For the HVAC-side platforms (Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan, FieldEdge, Service Fusion), the roundup is the best HVAC maintenance agreement software by shop size.
Either way: what neither does about maintenance agreements
GorillaDesk has four features that each hold one piece of an agreement and nothing that ties them together. Subscriptions charge a fixed amount on a calendar. Recurring jobs put the next visit on the calendar when the current one is closed. Service Plans, Growth only since March 28, 2025, chain a series of visits so each triggers after the last. Documents hold the signed terms. No feature counts visits owed against visits delivered per agreement year, no list shows who's due to renew this month, and a failed card is an invoice status with no retry.6, 7, 8 The six workarounds shops use inside it are on the GorillaDesk pricing page.
Jobber has no membership object at all, and the feature request has been open in its community for years.27 The workaround is a recurring job for the visits, a client tag for the tier, a custom field for the renewal date and a recurring invoice with Automatic Payments for the money, and it leaks in the same places: no owed-vs-delivered count, discounts applied from memory, renewals you have to ask for.11, 27 The click-by-click build is in how to run maintenance plans in Jobber.
This is the part I have a product in, so weigh it accordingly. Deepsel is an agreement ledger that runs beside the FSM you keep: plan, tier, covered equipment or property, card on file, and visits owed vs delivered per unit. It auto-charges renewals with retries and failed-payment flags, emails each member who's due a booking reminder every season (texts on Pro), and warns you before a paid visit expires. Starter is $79 a month, Pro $159 a month (coming soon), unlimited users on both. With Jobber, Starter imports your customer list and the reminder emails carry your Jobber booking link; Pro syncs through Jobber's free API and writes booked visits back as jobs. With GorillaDesk there is no integration today: you import an export, and the office keys booked visits back in as normal jobs, the way it does now.
Stack cost for the 2-truck shop: GorillaDesk Pro at $149 plus Deepsel Starter at $79 is $228 a month, and Jobber Connect at $149 plus Deepsel is the same $228. If your whole program is 25 agreements and the owner enjoys the calls, the free tracking spreadsheet is the right tool.

Is GorillaDesk or Jobber better for pest control?
GorillaDesk, for most pest shops under about five routes. It was built by pest operators, logs materials and chemicals on its cheapest plan, barcodes bait stations on Pro, and lets office staff log in free. Jobber sells to more than 50 industries, and its chemical tracking works only from jobber.com, not in the app. The pest owners on Reddit who ran both mostly moved from Jobber to GorillaDesk. The ones who stayed on Jobber point to its setup depth and its wider app marketplace.
Is GorillaDesk cheaper than Jobber?
For one or two routes, about the same. Past four routes, Jobber gets cheaper. GorillaDesk is $49, $99 or $149 a month for one route and adds $50 per route on Basic and Pro. Jobber is $29 a month for a solo Core seat on annual billing, $149 for Connect with five users, and $29 for each extra user. A 2-route shop pays $149 on GorillaDesk Pro and $149 on Jobber Connect. A 4-route shop pays $249 on GorillaDesk Pro and still $149 on Jobber Connect.
Does GorillaDesk have service plans or memberships?
It has a Service Plans feature on the Growth plan, added March 28, 2025, but no membership record. A Service Plan chains a series of visits so each one triggers after the last is completed. Billing lives separately, in Stripe or Square subscriptions on Pro or invoice-frequency autopay on Basic and Pro. Nothing links the money to the visits, counts visits owed against visits delivered, or lists who is due to renew. That ledger stays in a spreadsheet or a companion tool.
Can I use GorillaDesk for HVAC or plumbing?
You can, and its site lists handyman and inspection work among its industries, but the fit is weaker than for pest, lawn and pool routes. GorillaDesk is organized around recurring route stops, chemical and material logging, and per-route pricing. HVAC and plumbing shops lean on quotes with optional line items, job costing and a long integration list, which is where Jobber's Grow plan and free API are stronger. Neither one tracks maintenance agreements.
Does Jobber track chemicals like GorillaDesk does?
Partly. Jobber has a Chemical Tracking feature on select plans that records the product, concentration, applicator, weather and job, and exports a CSV for the records some states want kept for seven years. Its help center says there is no chemical tracking in the mobile app; records go in from jobber.com. GorillaDesk's Material Tracking and Reporting is on its $49 Basic plan and works from the truck. If your state wants application records from every stop, that difference decides the day.
Can I switch between GorillaDesk and Jobber without losing my recurring accounts?
Customers, addresses and notes move cleanly in either direction, and both vendors import them free. The recurring machinery does not move. GorillaDesk's free migration covers contact info, addresses, notes and a starting balance, not service or billing history, and Jobber has no membership object to receive plans. Every subscription, saved card and recurring job gets rebuilt by hand, and members re-enter card details. Move the agreement ledger into a tool that survives the switch first.
Which works better with QuickBooks, GorillaDesk or Jobber?
Jobber, on paper. Its Connect plan and up sync with QuickBooks Online and Xero, and its help center documents the sync in depth. GorillaDesk's sync is a one-way push of customers, invoices and payments to QuickBooks Online only, on the Pro plan. Owners on r/PestControlIndustry warn against turning it on with messy books. One wrote in October 2025 that syncing QuickBooks Online and GorillaDesk will leave your books a nightmare; another said to fix QuickBooks first, then sync or upload by hand.

- r/PestControlIndustry, "Routing/payment software," January 31, 2025: "I used Markate, then Jobber and now GorillaDesk. Jobber became a pain when having to setup custom invoices for customers if they had different payment time frames. I had calls with Fieldroutes and PestPac back in December but both were 3-4x what I pay for GorillaDesk." reddit.com, pulled September 7, 2026.
